Likely, you have already noticed that most of this website is organized into rooms and regions, like a house. This basic structure is a throwback — or ‘homage’ (my sentimental preference) — to an earlier incarnation of my site, circa 1999, in which I employed an overarching theme of a castle called Darkspires in a locale known as Drummer's Dark. For this remodel, I decided to stick to a simple appearance and concentrate more on substance (i.e., content) and less on flashiness. Ergo, the simple colors and graphics that you will find here (most having been crudely generated using Microsoft Paint^®).

I really did like that old version for its gothic style and atmospheric quality, though, and both my pride and sentimentality disliked the idea of completely abandoning the original Darkspires ‘flavor text.’ Happily, since the same organizational scheme of rooms and regions is retained in this new site (more or less), I had a decent excuse to keep some vestiges around. So, even though it doesn't make as much sense in the context of this new design, you will find that certain rooms and regions boast a descriptive introductory paragraph or two. (What the hell. Just humor me.)
