You are here: Homepage > Reliquary Crypt .......... At the base of a narrow spiral stairwell, you enter a relatively small, groin vaulted chamber. A space such as this, with its substantial stone piers and low gothic vaults, could feel very oppressive. This particular room, however, features a row of arched windows which admit just enough light to dispel any claustrophobic feeling. Peering through the dusty glass, you can see that this portion of the castle's exterior is blanketed by leafy vines. Many of the weathered panes are broken and vines have intruded as far as available sunlight will allow. With every draft, brown leaves skitter dryly around your feet on the stone floor. A white marble statue stands in the center of the room. A woman holding an armillary sphere is depicted and carved in the statue's base are the words Darkspires' Reliquary Crypt. Beneath, in slightly smaller characters, the inscription continues: Earl laid the first stones.
